Code Of Ethics...
I truly expect nothing
less of myself even without this official code of ethics to go by. I would
naturally conduct myself in the manner presented below:
- Pets are like a
member of your family. As a pet sitter, I recognize the importance pets play
in the lives of their families. My care of other people's pets is very
important and should be looked upon as a very serious responsibility.
- Treat every pet
as if they are my extended family.
- My dependability
is of the utmost importance.
- Honesty and
trustworthiness are expected by my clients.
- My client's home
and property should be respected and protected.
- Always keep my
promises and fulfill my commitments.
- My success as a
Pet Sitter will be directly affected by the way I conduct myself and treat
my clients & pets.
Using the above code
of ethics will assist me in continuing my role as a professional Pet Sitter.
"I
strive to be the kind of person my pets think I am."
Along
with the above code of ethics, we also believe in your pet's Bill of Rights.
Pet's Bill Of Rights
-
We have the right to be
full members of your family. We thrive on social interaction, praise
and love.
-
We have the right to
stimulation. We need new games, new toys, new experiences and new smells
to be happy.
-
We have the right to
regular exercise. Without it, we could become hyper, sluggish...or fat.
-
We have the right to
have fun. We enjoy acting like clowns now and then; don't expect us to
be predictable all the time.
-
We have the right to
quality healthcare. Please stay good friends with our vet.
-
We have the right to a
good diet. Like some people, we don't know what's best of us. We
depend on you.
-
We have the right to
not be rejected because of your expectations that we be great show dogs
or show cats, watchdogs, hunters or baby-sitters.
-
We have the right to
receive proper training. Otherwise, our good relationship could be
marred by confusion and strife -- and we could become dangerous to ourselves
and others.
-
We have the right to
guidance and correction based on understanding and compassion, rather
than abuse.
-
We have the right to
live with dignity...and to die with dignity when the time comes.
